Bio

I have been practicing massage therapy in the Boston area since 2001. My main focus is practicing lymphatic drainage, an overlooked and lesser known system of our body. I provide pre and post-operative care for any type of procedure, e.g. cosmetic, lymph node removal, hip/knee replacement, gender reaffirming, to reduce swelling, improve function and movement, and hasten healing.

My training includes lymphatic drainage therapy (MLD), oncology massage, Zero Balancing, deep tissue massage, pregnancy massage, orthopedic massage, myofascial release, sports massage, Swedish massage, trigger point therapy, massage cupping, kinesio taping, and craniosacral therapy. I graduated at the top of my class from the Massage Institute of New England (MINE) and subsequently became an instructor of Anatomy, Pathology, and Orthopedic Injuries at MINE and of Musculoskeletal Anatomy, and Kinesiology at Cortiva Institute in Watertown, MA. I am also a yoga instructor, trained at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, Stockbridge, MA.

I have extensive experience treating injuries and myofascial dysfunctions resulting from surgeries, accidents, repetitive stress, chronic conditions, pregnancy, postural distortions, and injuries.

Every client is unique and I use a variety of techniques and modalities to address each person’s individual needs. I enjoy working with chiropractors, physical therapists, gynecologists, oncologists, acupuncturists and other health practitioners to ensure a comprehensive treatment program leading to recovery and rehabilitation. A holistic approach that focuses on both the body's structure and the natural flow of the body's energy is necessary to alleviate acute and chronic physical conditions and related emotional states.

My goal is to create a preventive wellness program with the active participation of my clients. A combination of bodywork, yoga, and self-care may enhance performance, lead to physical and emotional balance, and improve quality of life.

I am certified by the Academy of Lymphatic Studies (ACOLS), the Academy of Clinical Massage, the Zero Balancing Health Association (ZBHA) and I am an active member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA), the Zero Balancing Health Association (ZBHA), the International Association of Health Practitioners (IAHP).

Anna Scire, Massage Therapist

"I highly recommend Anna to anyone who suffers from muscular pain or just wants a wonderful massage! I have seen Anna for the past few years after suffering from terrible back and neck pain for four years prior to that. I went to countless doctors, massage therapists, chiropractors, received acupuncture, physical therapy, tried many medications etc and I could not find anything that relieved my pain. Only after I saw Anna regularly did I receive any relief. Anna's amazing skill and knowledge about the body as well as her great personality and professionalism has kept me seeing her all of these years.

I recently had my first baby and saw Anna throughout my entire pregnancy. Anna has always catered my massage to whatever I am going through at the time and I will continue to see her to help, manage, and prevent my pain in the future. I don't know what I would have done without the help from Anna and I can't recommend her enough. I had no idea how important choosing the right massage therapist was until I met Anna!"
